This song is taken from a true story about a young girl who left her home believing her friend's words. Once there was a couple fiilethsii and kheinyipa who had a daughter named shieriithsii. She was obedient to her parents and lived under their watchful care. One day the wife died and the husband married another lady by the name chiirethsii.
As the days passed shierithsiii became more and more stubborn. Though her stepmother loved her she could not accept her and love her like her biological mother. She became very laze and refused to do any household chores and specially to go to the paddy field. Since she was lazy to go to the paddy field her parents told her to stay at home and do some chores at home. Her main work was to pound the paddy. Instead of pounding rice for the family's use, she would pound and cook for herself. She would eat and go to her friend's house when it was time for her parents to come back from the field. To escape from their scolding, she would sleep in her friend's house. This continued for a long time and her parents felt exasperated. They told her not to repeat such behavior but she did not pay heed to their advice. They thought that she was too lazy and wondered how she could survive without eating at night.
Since she never did any chores, her friends became jealous of her. So, they told he to leave her home and find a better place. At first, they could not convince her but when her parents continued to scold her, she decided to leave her home.
The song goes 'oh my friends my mother died and my father told me to leave home saying he could not look after me'.
